Welcome to my web page. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
This is my sixth year in the Dike-New Hartford School District. Previously, I was a teacher for Central Catholic Elementary
in Mason City and for CAL Community School in Latimer. At various times, I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th grade math, algebra,
American history, and religion. I was also coordinator of an at-risk program and ESL program. Prior to coming to New Hartford,
I served as K-8 administrator in the Meservey-Thornton Community School District in Thornton.
I have been married to my wife Cindy for 28 years. We have a son, Chris, and a daughter, Katie, both graduates of Truman
State in Kirksville, Missouri. Chris is an economic research analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank in Saint Louis. Katie is
in her second year of graduate school at St. Ambrose in Davenport studying to become an occupational therapist.
My childhood was spent growing up on what is now a "Century Farm". Regretfully, I sold off my by 20 head cow/calf
herd in 2006. In place of the cattle, I started to grow rhubarb. My initial plans call for a starting lot of 300 plants.
I also own a restored Oliver 60 tractor. We are currently restoring a 1954 Super MTA diesel.
My other great hobby is sports collecting. I have a very large collection of sports cards and memorabilia. I am currently
working to upgrade a completed 1956 set of baseball cards. I am almost finished with a 1970 set and a 1971 set of basketball
cards. During the preparation for an auction of family artifacts, I also developed an interest in antiques. I kept several
pieces of furniture and other old items which Cindy used to redecorate our home.
I enjoy watching college and professional sporting events. On Saturdays in the fall I can be seen at various college football
games. Each summer I make a trip to Busch Stadium in St. Louis to watch the Cards. I have also had some very unique experiences
at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
I hope this has given you a quick look at who I am as a person. As you can see I stay very busy and travel many miles
each year.
